Here’s my attempt at a henna design my friend found on instagram.
Drawing with henna is actually pretty difficult. It’s pretty similar to icing a cake and your hand hurts after doing it. Designing henna is a whole other level of difficult, hats off to those who can do it!!
Although mehndi is beautiful, we need to be cautious with it in Britain. Normal henna, once the dark paste has dried and washes off, leaves a red/orange/brown dye on your skin. Some places sell a “black” or “neutral” henna which contains a chemical (paraphenylenediamine) used in hair dyes which can cause an allergic reaction and damage your skin. Read more about this here.
